In diesem Jahr feiert das Institut für Luftrecht, Weltraumrecht und Cyberrecht sein 100-jähriges Jubiläum. Damit ist es das älteste Institut seiner Art weltweit.

Zu diesem Anlass richtet das Institut am 22. und 23. Mai 2025 in der Aula II (Hauptgebäude)  ein englischsprachiges Symposium aus, zu dem alle Interessierten herzlich eingeladen sind!

Unter der Leitung des Institutsdirektors Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dr. h.c. Stephan Hobe, LL.M. (McGill) werden nationale und internationale Gäste aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zu Themen der Nachhaltigkeit, des Luftrechts, Weltraumrechts und Cyberrechts diskutieren. Die Vorträge und Panels umfassen die gesamte Bandbreite der Forschung des Instituts und widmen sich u.a. Space Traffic Management Guidelines sowie der Kriegsführung im Weltraum auch unter Nachhaltigkeitsaspekten. Die Jubiläumsveranstaltung schließt mit der Präsentation und Annahme des Cologne Manual on Space Traffic Management.

This year, the Institute for Air Law, Space Law and Cyber Law is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Consequently, this Institute represents the oldest of its kind in the world.

To commemorate this occasion, the Institute is hosting a symposium on 22 and 23 May 2025 in Aula II (the main building), to which all interested parties are cordially invited.

The programme for the event, overseen by the Institute Director, Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Dr. h.c. Stephan Hobe, LL.M. (McGill), will feature discussions on topics relating to sustainability, air law, space law and cyber law, with guests from both national and international backgrounds, representing the scientific and business sectors. The lectures and panels will cover the entire spectrum of the Institute's research and will be dedicated to topics such as space traffic management guidelines and warfare in space, including sustainability aspects. The anniversary event will conclude with the presentation and adoption of the Cologne Manual on Space Traffic Management.
