Legal Research Assistant at DeepL

DeepL's Legal team is seeking Research Assitants to join the team focusing on IT, IP & Innovation and Data Privacy

Your responsibilites:

  • Providing general legal support on a wide range of day-to-day matters with focus on IT/IP law and data privacy topics.
  • Monitoring incoming legal requests and assisting lawyers with responses.
  • Drafting and reviewing various legal documents such as license agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Assisting in the management of the companyʼs intellectual property portfolio.
  • Providing guidance on new laws and regulations affecting the company.
  • Using AI tools and systems to improve the efficiency and throughput of legal support.
  • Administrative tasks such as organizing and maintaining documents, and managing deadlines for multiple tasks (e.g. status of trademark applications).

Your profile:

  • Excellent training (at least first German State Exam with above average results); prior working experience would be beneficial but is not necessary
  • Interest in AI and language solutions
  • Highly organised with a structured way of working and considerable attention to detail, especially under time pressure
  • Able to follow instructions carefully and accurately. A collaborative individual with a proactive style of working
  • Good time-management and ability prioritise
  • A willingness to learn more about the in-house legal world and all legal aspects that we deal with at DeepL
  • Interest to grow in the role and take on new challenges
  • Being a “problem solver’‘ with a goal-oriented way of working
