Habilitation
The habilitation proves that a person can independently represent his or her scientific subject in research and teaching. The prerequisite for a habilitation is a doctorate and postdoctoral academic activity. The habilitation leads to the recognition of the teaching qualification (facultas docendi) in one or more academic subjects (habilitation subject/s). Habilitation achievements at the Cologne Faculty are the habilitation thesis and a scientific lecture followed by a colloquium.
Upon completion of the habilitation, the academic degree "Doctor habilitatus" ("Dr. habil.") is usually awarded. In addition, the academic title "Privatdozent/Privatdozentin" can be used on the basis of the award of the authorisation to teach (venia legendi) by the faculty.
Habilitationsausschuss
Dem Habilitationsausschuss gehören alle Professorinnen und Professoren innerhalb der Mitglieder der Gruppe der Hochschullehrerinnen und Hochschullehrer der Fakultät sowie die entpflichteten oder in den Ruhestand versetzten Professorinnen und Professoren der Fakultät an. Vorsitzende oder Vorsitzender ist die Dekanin oder der Dekan.
Zu den Präsentations- und Habilitationsvorträgen im Habilitationsausschuss sind Mitglieder und Angehörige der Fakultät als Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörer zugelassen (§§ 2 II und 7 III HabilO).
Die Sitzungen des Habilitationsausschusses im Wintersemester 2023/2024 sollen stattfinden:
• 12.10.2023, 14 Uhr s.t. (keine öffentlichen Vorträge),
• 09.11.2023, 14 Uhr s.t., mit Präsentationsvortrag Dr. Christoph Jansen, LL.M.,
• 18.01.2024 11 Uhr s.t., mit Habilitationsvortrag Dr. David Markworth, MSc (ca. 11 Uhr) und Präsentationsvortrag Dr. Jan Daum (13 Uhr s.t.)
Die Sitzungen des Habilitationsausschusses im Sommersemester 2024 sollen stattfinden:
• 11.04.2024, 13 Uhr s.t., mit Präsentationsvorträgen Dres. Svenja Raube und Paula Rhein-Fischer
• 06.06.2024, (vorauss. 13 Uhr s.t.),
• 04.07.2023, (vorauss. 13 Uhr s.t.).
